Currently under a transfer embargo and now Eden Hazard-less, you could forgive anyone for predicting a bleak 2019/20 season for Chelsea.
Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov, however, believes the Blues could actually be in for a bright campaign under their club legend and rookie boss Frank Lampard.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror about how he expects the Premier League season to pan out at the top, Berbatov said: “Unfortunately I need to say it but I think Manchester City will be champions again, then Liverpool. They are the top two.
“Then I think Spurs and then Chelsea. I say Chelsea because I saw them play under Frank Lampard and I like his philosophy a lot. And then of course you have the usual suspects, Arsenal and Man United.”
Lampard, of course, only has one season of management under his belt following his short spell in the Pride Park dugout with Derby County last term.
That, however, has not stopped Chelsea fans, who seem to be on the same page as Berbatov, from having faith in Maurizio Sarri’s successor.
You can have a look at what they have had to say below…
