Chelsea fans were far from happy with the performance of Emerson Palmieri following their defeat to Manchester City in Saturday’s evening game.

When asked by Twitter account @TheBlues__, many of the Chelsea fans pointed their finger at the Italy international and singled him out.
The Blues were beaten 2-1 by their Premier League rivals, despite having taken the lead through N’Golo Kante’s well-taken effort.
Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez took over for Pep Guardiola’s side as they took all three points and left the Etihad Stadium with their pursuit of Liverpool at the top of the table still within distance (BBC).
Frank Lampard believed his side played well in parts, however there was uproar amongst a number of the fanbase on social media regarding Emerson’s performance.
Many had felt that he was the worst player on the pitch for Chelsea, whilst there could be an argument made that his poor defending had left Mahrez with the opportunity to score.
Indeed, when looking at the statistical data from the game regarding his display, Emerson did not appear to have the best of games before being substituted in the second half.
In fact, the 25-year-old failed to make a successful tackle or interception, whilst only providing his team-mates with two clearances and blocked just one shot (per WhoScored).
