Stunned is not the word for punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern, as the Sun claim that Fernando Torres has been told he has a future at Chelsea.

The forward according to all of our punters, is God awful, yet has managed to outlast a host of star names at the club and we simply cannot understand how that has happened.

As our landlord notes, the arrival of Diego Costa seems almost imminent – but that will not spell the end of Torres. Instead, he has been told by the board and manager Jose Mourinho that he does have a future at the Blues and will get his millionth chance to impress next season.

We certainly doubt that Torres will be able to impress the club and their fans – and think that the likes of Demba Ba have a far greater chance of scoring goals and breaking into the first team. Torres according to the regulars will once again fail to impress.
