It has been a quiet few weeks for Chelsea on the transfer front, much to the surprise of the fans in the Transfer Tavern. Their desperate need for more bodies in the first team has been evident all summer long, and it appears as though only now is the Chelsea brass acting upon that.
Still, better late than never, and with a couple of days until the window closes, there is more than enough time for the Blues to get a few deals done.
Landlord’s Verdict
A move for the Ox simply makes sense. He’ll likely be afforded more regular game time at Stamford Bridge, whilst the Blues are also in desperate need of more depth in the positions that he plays.
His versatility should see him feature regularly, with a role in the midfield, attack and defence likely forthcoming.
With only a year left on his deal and a fee said to be agreed, this deal is looking close to certain at this point.
