The Chelsea fans have high hopes for a host of their young players…
Much has been made of the Blues’ inability to bring young players into the first team, with the likes of Josh McEachran and Lucas Piazon expected to become stars in a blue shirt – only to fade into obscurity after months over hyping.
One player that was not expected to follow that path was Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who, unlike most of his fellow youth graduates, was promoted to the Chelsea first team, as opposed to going on loan for a few years in order to gain experience.
After years of disappointment and a lack of success in the academy, it appeared as though Loftus-Cheek would follow John Terry’s footsteps and get into the Chelsea first team – but under Conte, the chances of that have reduced significantly.
The Italian boss doesn’t seem to rate Loftus-Cheek, often preferring young Nathaniel Chalobah in his place – with Loftus-Cheek hardly featuring at all this season.
This is, seemingly, concerning Chelsea – with the Evening Standard now reporting that Chelsea are ready to loan out the Englishman, with the likes of Brighton and West Ham both keen on securing his services for the rest of the season.
The news has disappointed the Chelsea fans in the Tavern, many of whom think that Loftus-Cheek is ready for a starting berth at Stamford Bridge. Nonetheless, they think that a loan move is needed if he isn’t going to play regularly – and they think a move to West Ham could be perfect.
When given a chance, Loftus-Cheek has impressed – as the below video shows…

Our landlord thinks that he is destined to make it as a Premier League star, even if Chelsea might not be the club for him.
Chelsea fans – thoughts?
