As quoted by ESPN, Gianfranco Zola has revealed his intention to return to Stamford Bridge in the future as a manager.
The former West Ham United and Watford manager is currently in charge of Qatari outfit Al Arabi and revealed his dreams when speaking to a organisation’s website for the 2022 World Cup.
“My dream, let us say my ambition, is to be Chelsea manager some day in the future. However, I realise that I need to improve as a manager if I want to get there. And I am working hard to achieve my goal. Qatar is helping me a lot in this regard.”
With Chelsea struggling recently, losing six of their opening 11 Premier League matches and eight of their last 16 in all competitions, a managerial chance could be taking place sooner rather than later. However, Zola has backed his former side to turn their fortunes around.
“The club has it in them to turn around their fortunes. A good result in the Champions League game against Kiev followed by a couple of league wins will do the trick,”
