The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern want to see this man stay at Chelsea for a few years yet…
Cesc Fabregas has been a fantastic servant to Chelsea since he arrived under the managership of Jose Mourinho in 2014 – having won the coveted Premier League with the London-side.
He has played a key role throughout his tenure so far, but that has changed somewhat under Antonio Conte.
The Spaniard has seen his game time reduce significantly under the Italian boss, and a formation switch has reduced the need for a player of his skill set
This, expectedly, has led to speculation in the Football Transfer Tavern that the Spaniard could leave – with countries including China, America and Spain touted by our punters as potential destinations
However, according to Marca – Fabregas’ tenure at Chelsea has some way to go yet.
Marca are reporting that Fabregas has rejected a €31 million offer from the Chinese Super League to jump ship – instead opting to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place.
This news has delighted the Chelsea fans in the Tavern, many of whom think he will be a key player for Chelsea going forward.
Despite having a limited role so far, Fabregas has proven impactful when given an opportunity. He has made 4 starts in all competitions so far, and has picked up 2 goals and 2 assists in the process. Not a bad return at all…
Our landlord thinks that, in time, Fabregas will make his way back into the Chelsea first team.
