Chelsea: Many fans were happy with Reece James’ debut

Reece James made his Chelsea first-team debut during Wednesday night’s 7-1 win over Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup.

To make the occasion even more special, the 19-year-old scored Chelsea’s fifth goal of the game in the 82nd minute, controlling a ball which had popped out to him outside the box with his first touch, before sending it into the bottom corner with his second, as shown in the highlights video on Chelsea’s official YouTube channel.

He posted about his delight at making his debut on his personal Twitter account:

There was far more than the goal to be impressed about with James’ performance, as he got 1 assist, made 1 clearance, 1 interception, 1 tackle, 1 dribble and an impressive 5 key passes, as per SofaScore.

This has caught the eye of many Chelsea fans, with some of them having been excited about the prospect of seeing him play for the first-team for some time.
