The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern don’t like the look of this…
Since the start of the season, speculation has linked Chelsea ace Cesc Fabregas with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
He is a fan favourite amongst the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern, and many feel that he should be retained by the club.
Despite being a regular in the Blues first team since the arrival, Fabregas has fallen out of favour with Antonio Conte, and the bit-part role that he has played thus far, inevitably, lead to murmurings of a departure.
AC Milan have been touted as a possible destination for the Spaniard – and the rumours linking him with a move to Italy seem to be growing by the day…
As per CalcioMercato, Fabregas has once again been linked with a move to AC Milan – but this time; a player might be coming the other way.
They report that whilst Fabregas is still a target of Milan – Antonio Conte is keen on AC Milan defender Matteo De Sciglio; in turn opening up reports of a potential swap deal.
They add that there will be a meeting between the two parties to discuss a deal over the next few weeks.
Whilst the Blues fans in the Tavern don’t want to see Fabregas leave – this deal actually makes a lot of sense.
De Sciglio is an accomplished defender, and is able to play across the back four – and he is particularly proficient as a wing back.
The Italian also played under Antonio Conte during his stint as Italy boss – meaning the pair have a ready made relationship.
Our landlord thinks this deal could be absolutely perfect for Chelsea.
