Over the last few days, the Chelsea fans have been pouring into the Transfer Tavern with smiles across their faces.
A deal for Real Madrid star James Rodriguez has looked increasingly likely, with the Blues reportedly keen to improve their attacking options – and the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been toasting the news all week.
After all, Rodrigeuz is one of Europe’s most well-known stars, and he has impressed since arriving in Madrid.
However, contrary to reports, according to the Sun, Chelsea are NOT keen on the Columbian, with the Blues instead bulking at the £60 million asking price of Real Madrid.
Whilst this is disappointing news for the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern, it does, in fact, make a lot of sense. Chelsea’s current 3-4-3 system doesn’t fit a player like Rodriguez, and his arrival would likely facilitate the departures of Pedro or Willian – given that the number 10 position isn’t really a factor in Conte’s formation.
There is no doubting the quality that Rodriguez would bring to the side, though, as the video below shows.
