Chelsea fans are smiling here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they move over to the bar to muscle in on what our landlord has to say about their beloved Blues.
After handing around the Daily Star, they are treated to a rather exclusive interview by Diego Costa who is set to return from his three-game ban when the Blues play Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League next week and his return cannot come soon enough according to our regulars.
The Spanish international forward spoke to Sport magazine and made it very clear just why he felt his time at Stamford Bridge had been such a success, noting: “What is my good start down to? Hard work. Also, Jose Mourinho is a very clever man.
“He knows exactly the kind of team he wants to build and the way he wants to play.”
As one of our punters notes, the fact that Mourinho waited a whole season for Costa and basically threw a chance of the title away because his forwards could not score despite all of Roman Abramovich’s roubles seems like a masterstroke now, given how well Costa has settled in at the club – both on and off the pitch.
