Cesc Fabregas has had quite the fall from grace at Chelsea this year. Despite being a key part of the Blues’ first team since his arrival, he has fallen down the pecking order under Antonio Conte – and the Chelsea fans in the Tavern had largely expected him to leave the club in January.
The Times have recently suggested that Chelsea were keen to get him out of the club, with the Blues reportedly happy to subsidise his wages – in a move that baffled the Chelsea faithful in the Football Transfer Tavern.
However, despite the exit talk – it would appear that Fabregas has his own opinions – and a report in the Sun suggests that a departure might not be on the cards.
According to the Sun, Fabregas is keen to remain at Stamford Bridge until at least the end of the season – regardless of how much game time he gets under Antonio Conte.
They add that whilst he will consider his options at the end of the season, he is happy to stay and fight for his place this year – despite falling down the pecking order under Conte.
Whilst this news surprised the Chelsea fans in the Tavern – they are definitely not complaining. Fabregas is a world class player. and he can definitely play a role for the Blues this season.
Fabregas has been a key figure at Chelsea since his arrival, and his combinations alongside Diego Costa were crucial en route to Chelsea’s Premier League win in 2015.
