The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are struggling to keep with this saga..
Cesc Fabregas’ Chelsea future has been up in the air for several weeks now – with the Spaniard relegated to a bit-part role at Stamford Bridge under Antonio Conte.
Conflicting reports have emerged over the last few days, with some suggesting that Fabregas wants to remain at Chelsea – whilst others suggest that he is set for a loan deal.
Today, however, yet another report has emerged – and it has made his Chelsea future look slightly clearer.
According to Squawka, Fabregas is open to a loan move in January – but only if he can join one of Europe’s best clubs. Interestingly, they also reaffirm the notion that he is happy to stay at Stamford Bridge this season regardless – but should Conte force him to move, a loan could happen.
This move is looking increasingly likely, simply based on the number of sources linking him with a move away. This report would seem to confirm that Fabregas is at least somewhat open to a move away from the club.
The Chelsea fans in the Tavern would love him to stay; but they are becoming more and more convinced that his days at Stamford Bridge are numbered.
Our landlord thinks that a deal could be done in January, with Conte likely keen to reinvest the funds made from the deal.
