Our resident Chelsea supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are getting excited at the news filtering in from the Daily Star, with the publication claiming that talented non-league star Yasin Ben El-Mhanni is on trial at Chelsea.
The 20-year-old is being touted as the next ‘Riyad Mahrez’ and this has certainly caused a fracas here in the Tavern, with the Blues fans very excited about this prospect!
It has been a disappointing season for Chelsea in the 2015/16 campaign, with the Blues severly underperforming during the first half of the seaosn – ultimately making them flirt with the relegation zone in the Premier League.
As our landlord quips, there is set to be a major overhaul at Stamford Bridge in the summer, and El-Mhanni could be a player who is involved in the shake-up in west London.
The Daily Star says that El-Mhanni has been on trial at fellow Premier League outfit West Brom before, but a move never materialised.
The Chelsea fans over by the pool table feel this could be an astute signing, with them all looking at a certain Jamie Vardy, and the journey he’s been on, from becoming a non-league player to an England international!
