Metro have certainly managed to grab our attention here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they seem to think Southampton are lining up a sensational move for Chelsea keeper Petr Cech.
The move would only be a loan one – with Fraser Forster out for the rest of the season – and as one of our punters notes, we cannot see Jose Mourinho allowing Cech to leave this season with the Blues still looking to secure their title – and no back up option in sight.
The Saints meanwhile do have serious issues when it comes to their keepers and we fully expect them to bring one in on emergency loan – although we would be shocked if it was Cech.
One of our punters notes that while Cech will probably stay this season, come the summer he will certainly be off and we have to agree with that.
