Some of the fans in the Transfer Tavern are pretty critical of Chelsea’s approach to the loan system…
Often described as a waste of talent, it is widely thought that the Blues simply hoard players and do very little to encourage their development – but according to Chelsea loanee Jeremie Boga, that is not the case.
Speaking to the Mirror, Boga said: “It is very good for all the loan players. We are looked after very well and don’t feel like we are being left out”.
He continued: “We still have a lot of contact with some of the coaching staff and the other loan players”.
Whilst the system itself has received a lot of criticism, if Boga is to be believed, it is certainly serving its purpose.
Chelsea have had a number of success stories from the system, most notably Thibaut Courtois and Victor Moses. Moses’ story, in particular, is interesting – because nobody was expecting him to be given a chance. Instead, the Nigerian has come back into the fold magnificently – and he is now undroppable.
Our landlord doesn’t think that Chelsea’s system is as bad as everybody makes out.
