Chelsea’s title challenge handed another big boost

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been dancing in absolute delight of late as they watch their side shoot up the Premier League under the stewardship of Antonio Conte.

Moving to a back three has seemingly done wonders for the Stamford Bridge titans as the Italian proves his worth as one of the elite tacticians in the game.

So, our west London locals have been in a joyous mood of celebration for the last few weeks.

That’s only been added to, now, following reports from the Daily Telegraph.

They’ve suggested BOTH Diego Costa and Thibaut Courtois are close to extending their deals in SW6 after they emerged as key players under the former Italy and Juventus coach.

Under Jose Mourinho last season, the Spaniard and the Belgian failed to hit top form, despite their heroics during the club’s first title win in half a decade the season before.

Costa, in particular, has been in lethal form, notching 10 goals in the league thus far and his likely extension will be a huge boost following lengthy links with a return to former club Atletico Madrid.

While there is reportedly no rush to get the deals done, talks are understood to be planned in the New Year as Chelsea look to tie down the pair.

How has Conte turned the pair around? Let us know below…
