Yesterday, when Manchester City hosted Rotherham United at The Etihad, everyone expected the Citizens to walk all over the Championship outfit, and then the team news was announced. From there, the Championship side had no hope and the home fans were all questioning the need for such a strong team in the FA Cup.

Pep Guardiola was not prepared to hold back against his Championship opponents and will have had his side’s 1-0 away loss to Wigan in last year’s FA Cup 5th round in mind when he picked his side. The likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Ilkay Gundogan, Kyle Walker, John Stones and Ederson were all picked to start in a side that would beat most Premier League teams.
The only thing that matters really now is that the Citizens are going to be the hat for the 4th round draw later tonight, and they got through the clash against Rotherham in emphatic style with a thumping 7-0 victory. However, the fans are still in shock at the strength of their team and will hope that they can field a slightly less ruthless eleven when they take on Burton Albion on Wednesday evening.

The City fans were all shocked to see how strong their side was for Rotherham, and will just be glad that they got the win and are in the hat for the next round.
