Our Crystal Palace fans here in the Transfer Tavern really have not had the start to the summer they would have wanted with Sam Allardyce deciding to retire from football.
After a tough season for the Eagles, they did at least manage to stay in the top flight and their fans here by the bar were certainly looking forward to seeing who ‘Big Sam’ was going to manage to bring in.
Indeed, many felt that this was the moment that Palace would begin to kick on up the table but instead they have been left in the lurch and it remains to be seen who comes in as the next boss.
The players, then, must be shocked with Andros Townsend revealing as such on Twitter – leaving Newcastle fans to come in and ask him to return.
