The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to seeing Iran face Spain in the World Cup tonight. The last time they got to watch their ‘keeper in international action, David De Gea made a serious blunder allowing the ball to slip through his grasp and into the back of the net, giving Portugal a 2-1 lead, although the score ended up at 3-3.
This time around everyone is expecting a much easier ride for Spain as they face the lesser fancied Iran. Fernando Hierro’s side were only expected to struggle in their opening World Cup group game against Portugal and after securing a point from that game the stage is set for them to kick on and beat Morocco and Iran and qualify from Group B to set up a round-of-16 tie against one of either Russia or Uruguay from Group A.
De Gea is expected to be much less busy in the Spain goal tonight and the fans will be hoping for a big win for La Roja to get a first World Cup win of the tournament. That won’t be possible if De Gea has a bad game, though, and so in response to a recent Tweet from Man Utd showing support to De Gea – fans are admitting that they have one concern. They don’t want him to play poorly again!

The United fans in the Tavern will be watching De Gea carefully tonight. The shot-stopper has been in superb form at club level this season and will be hoping he can start to carry that form across for Spain tonight.
