Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking for the club to make a number of changes this summer, yet will still be concerned that a new manager has not been named.
The Whites let Paul Heckingbottom go a couple of weeks ago and despite rumours linking men with the job fairly early, the club have failed to confirm a new man to arrive at Elland Road just yet, despite the new Championship season getting underway in less than two months.
The locals in the bar will be concerned that the longer it takes to make an appointment, with Marcelo Bielsa being thought of as the strong favourite, the side could fall behind in the transfer market.
Despite Leeds not being able to bring anyone in at the moment, it has been confirmed by the club’s official website that the Whites have reached an agreement with 21-year-old Madger Gomes regarding his future at Elland Road, with the Yorkshire giants confirming that he has left them for French side Sochaux.
The midfielder was just one year into his three-year contract after his switch from Liverpool, and only made two senior appearances for the side, both of which coming in the Carabao Cup.
Landlord’s Verdict: Many of the locals will have been surprised to see Gomes depart the Elland Road outfit so soon after signing a long-term deal with the club.
However, the 21-year-old would have needed to move on if he were to get first-team football as he was no closer to the senior side, and had plenty of competition from others in the development squad.
