Conte could get his wish with Chelsea reportedly in with a chance of landing 31-goal forward

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been delighted with the start to life at Stamford Bridge made by Alvaro Morata. The Spaniard has immediately adjusted to life in England, displacing Michy Batsuayi with ease and taking the Premier League by storm in the process. Antonio Conte, though, doesn’t yet seem happy with his attacking options.

According to the Mirror, the Italian is still looking to improve his options in the attack despite the recent signing of Alvaro Morata. Significantly, then, it’s interesting to note that the Blues are said to have been offered the chance to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who like Morata has taken his league by storm this season.

He bagged a simply incredible 31 league goals this term, and he has already followed that up with 11 goals this year. He’s one of Europe’s most lethal goalscorers, and so for Chelsea, this could be rather significant.

Chelsea do have options in the attack, but the load has been carried mostly by Morata this term, with Michy Batshuayi struggling to make much of an impact. Aubameyang would almost certainly come in and take the place of the Belgian, and so if the Blues can get him for a decent price, it could be great for business.

That being said, given his quality, he’s likely to be sold for big money, meaning the Blues will need to assess whether this deal is worth it.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Blues certainly need a bit more depth in the attack, and so Conte would be wise to consider this deal.

Whether he’d be happy to compete with Morata, though, remains to be seen.

He won’t be cheap, but in terms of quality, he may be the best available.
