Chelsea look to have regained their star power in the Premier League this season, with Antonio Conte leading the Blues back to the top of the Premier League – much to the surprise of everyone in the Football Transfer Tavern.
With the Blues once again looking like a threatening force in the Premier League, it was only a matter of time before some of Europe’s best players were linked with them – and this one has really excited the Chelsea fans in attendance at the Tavern.
According to the Express, Chelsea are keen on Real Madrid star James Rodriguez – who has fallen down the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Interestingly, the Express also add that Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho is keen – meaning that the Portuguese boss could come to blows with his former club as he looks to sign the talented Columbian attacker.
Rodriguez might have fallen out of favour at Real Madrid – but there is no doubting the Columbian’s qualities.
After exploding onto the scene after the 2014 World Cup, Rodriguez quickly moved to the Spanish giants – and his lack of game time speaks far more highly of the quality on display at Madrid, rather than his personal lack of form.
Both Chelsea and Man Utd could certainly do with a bit more attacking depth, with the likes of Rooney and Oscar looking likely to leave their respective clubs.
Rodriguez has made only 3 league starts so far this season, alongside a handful of substitute appearances, and has bagged 2 assists and 1 goal in the process.
