Though not much has been going against them of late, there’s little doubt the Chelsea supporting punters propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern are a little nervous about tonight.
Not only do they face a crunch top of the table clash with bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur, they can also break Arsenal’s Premier League winning record with 14 on the bounce by beating Mauricio Pochettino’s men tonight.
Lose, and it could blow the title race right open.
So reports from the Sun have at least moved to take their minds off tonight’s game at White Hart Lane.
According to a recent report, the Blues are lining up a shock move for West Ham United ace Michail Antonio as Antonio Conte plots moves for reinforcements.
The 26-year-old has proved mightily impressive for the Hammers this season in a variety of different positions, something that has reportedly impressed the table-topping Italian coach.
His performances have been so good in fact, he was called into both Sam Allardyce’s and Gareth Southgate’s first England squads earlier this term.
It’s been a remarkable rise up the league for the former Tooting and Mitcham man, who has also played for Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest throughout his career.
While he’s not the most glamorous name to be linked with Stamford Bridge, our west London locals are happy with the idea of him arriving, such is the nature of his impressive season in a struggling Irons side.
Would Antonio fit in at Chelsea? Let us know below…
