Conte must ask Abramovich to sanction these 3 January deals

Chelsea have made a blistering start to the 2016/17 Premier League campaign and the Blues are currently top of the pile as we approach the halfway stage of the season.

Antonio Conte has got his team firing and the Italian boss has taken extremely well to life in the Premier League, much to the delight of the Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern.

The ardent bunch of Blues supporters endured a season of misery during the 2015/16 campaign and they finally have a smile back on their faces after Conte got the team firing on the pitch.

One Chelsea fan is having a game of pool with his pals in the Tavern and he thinks that the team is playing some superb football at the moment, stating his excitement at what the future might hold.

Tavern writer Lee Clarke looks at three deals that Conte should plead with Roman Abramovich to pull off in January.

Michy Batshuayi – OUT

Batshuayi

The Belgian striker has not endured a successful start to life at Stamford Bridge and his Chelsea days already look numbered.

If Conte is serious about the striker having a future at Chelsea, then he must get him out on loan to another Premier League club in the first instance.

One Chelsea fan is having a few quid on the fruit machine and he thinks that the 23-year-old hasn’t been given a fair crack of the whip yet, although he does think that a loan move would do him the world of good.

Leonardo Bonucci – IN

The Italian central defender is a long-term advocate of Antonio Conte’s and the Chelsea boss would love a reunion with the reliable defender.

The 29-year-old has been with Juventus for six years, playing 209 games for the club and his loyalty to the Italian champions is undoubted.

Conte is without doubt in the market for another central defender and he should ask the club’s hierarchy to pull off this major deal next month.

Faouzi Ghoulam – IN

Ghoulam

A more realistic defensive recruit for January could be the signing of Napoli man Ghoulam, with the 25-year-old heavily linked with a move to the Blues.

The Algerian has netted six goals already this season from a defensive position and he could be a shrewd acquisition for Chelsea.

One Chelsea fan is sat chilling with his pals here in the Tavern and he thinks that the club definitely needs some more defenders, stating that Ghoulam could be just the signing that the club needs.
