Conte should drop these 2 Chelsea players against Atletico Madrid – agreed?

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling very excited for their side’s upcoming clash with Atletico Madrid…

Games between the two have been fiery in the past, with the Spanish side knocking out the Blues when they last met under Jose Mourinho.

This game, though, is expected to be far closer. Chelsea are looking unstoppable in the Premier League, whilst their domestic league win last term has proven that they have the credentials to go all the way.

It has been a few years since Chelsea were genuinely competitive in Europe, and Antonio Conte will want to change that this season.

In order to do so, though, the Blues need to get out of their group, and in order to complete that objective, they need to get past Atletico Madrid.

A win against the Spanish side would put them in a commanding position, whilst even a draw would be a good result. To make that happen, though, Antonio Conte needs to pick a very strong side, and a few players could miss out as a result.

With that said, Conte should drop these 2 Chelsea players against Atletico Madrid – agreed?

 Andreas Christensen

Andreas Christensen has done very well whilst he has been deputising for David Luiz, but the Brazilian should come back in against Atletico Madrid.

Christensen is a top defender, and he has huge potential, but a lack of experience is not what Chelsea need in the heart of the defence, and so this is a logical choice.

He’ll come back into the side in the Premier League, but there’s no doubt that this decision makes sense.

 Willian

Willian has been disappointing in recent weeks.

His famed driving funs and set pieces have gone off the map completely, and all the while, Pedro is impressing alongside him and outshining him in the attack.

Eden Hazard is back in the fold, and whilst that should motivate the Brazilian, he has been far from impressive lately.

He’ll do a job from the bench, but he needs to up his game to feature more regularly.
