Conte should drop these 2 Chelsea players against Swansea City – agreed?

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling good at present. The Blues are on a decent run of form at the moment, and after a scare against Liverpool over the weekend, Antonio Conte’s men did well to come back and draw the game.

That game, combined with Chelsea’s recent progression in the Champions League, as well as big recent victories against the likes of Man Utd, seem to prove that Antonio Conte’s men are back in business.

However, their clash against Liverpool was far from perfect, with a few players flattering to deceive. This will give Antonio Conte food for thought ahead of his side’s next game against Swansea City. Three points are essential for the Blues on Wednesday, and so some personnel changes could be needed.

Conte has his core team, and he won’t want to disrupt that, but a few minor changes could work well.

With that said, Conte should drop these 2 Chelsea players against Liverpool – agreed?

Tiemoue Bakayoko

Tiemoue Bakayoko’s flaws were exposed against Liverpool, with the Frenchman looking seriously poor against the Reds.

He was outshone by Danny Drinkwater and N’Golo Kante, and with one of Chelsea’s three midfielders likely to be displaced in favour of an attacking midfielder against Swansea City, Bakayoko should undoubtedly be the man to make way.

The Frenchman clearly needs to improve and get used to the Premier League, but at present, there is no clear route back into the team for him.

Davide Zappacosta

Davide Zappacosta looks great going forward, but he looks very shaky at the back. The Italian often fails to track back quickly enough, and he has yet to show that he’s particularly strong in the tackle. He was exposed a few times against Liverpool, and though he got away with it on that occasion, that luck isn’t going to last long-term.

Against Swansea City that would be a big risk, and so it might be time for him to have a day off. Perhaps the ever-consistent Cesar Azpilicueta could fit in instead, or perhaps Victor Moses could return to the fold if he is fit.
