Conte simply must consider signing these 2 French players in January

The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are expecting January to be a very busy month for the Blues…

After a mixed start to the season, Antonio Conte will undoubtedly be looking to improve his squad in January – and our landlord thinks that he would be wise to look towards France in search of more talent.

Chelsea have enjoyed great success by signing French players, with stars including the likes of N’Golo Kante, Marcel Desailly and Kurt Zouma all impressing in a Blue shirt.

These players have come on to form the core of Chelsea’s first team, and with several of Chelsea’s long-standing players likely to depart Stamford Bridge this summer; Conte must think ahead.

France is quickly becoming a hub of exciting young talent – and Chelsea must get involved.

With that said, Conte simply must consider signing these 2 French players in January

Morgan Schneiderlin

Schneiderlin

Morgan Schneiderlin is seemingly not in the plans at Man Utd – but what is Mourinho’s loss can be Chelsea’s gain.

The Frenchman is a stellar central midfielder with a real eye for a pass – and with Cesc Fabregas seemingly out of the Chelsea first team – Schneiderlin has all the qualities to replace him.

His lack of game time with Man Utd this season could mean that he is available cheaply, and Conte would be wise to pick him up.

If he can recapture the form that he had at Southampton, he could prove to be a great signing.

Aymeric Laporte

Chelsea are in desperate need of added depth at the back – and Aymeric Laporte would fit the bill perfectly.

Laporte is a towering 6ft2 defender that has impressed in La Liga as of late, and has looked good when competing with some of Europe’s best attackers.

He has long been touted with a Premier League move in the Tavern, and Chelsea could prove to be the perfect long-term home of the Frenchman.

Comfortable with the ball at his feet but also ruthless defensively – Laporte could be perfect.

The Frenchman could form a great partnership with his compatriot Kurt Zouma in the Chelsea back line.
