Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story in The Mirror, that their on-loan Brazilian winger, Kenedy, could cost £15 million as Rafa Benitez wants to make the signing a permanent one. Kenedy has made more starts in his few months at Newcastle than he did in two and a half years with Chelsea and the Magpies have been impressed with his form.

Kenedy has only made six starts for Newcastle since moving to St James Park on loan in January. However, it’s been the youngster’s most consistent first-team football in over two years as the 22-year-old’s career has stalled somewhat in the Chelsea youth system. Kenedy has now been given the opportunity to shine in the Premier League as he scored his first goals for Newcastle in Saturday’s 3-0 demolition of Southampton.
With his current form making him one of the first names on Benitez team sheet at the moment, it’s no surprise that the elusive Spaniard wants to add Kenedy to his squad permanently, although reports have stated that it will take the North East club £15 million to force Chelsea to part with their man. Newcastle have developed a reputation under Mike Ashley for being harsh negotiators as the Magpies propping our bar up have become more and more frustrated over the years with the club’s lack of spending.

He’s always spent what’s there. 3 years ago he had very good TV money and spent 15 on Gini. This year the money will be better. Last year it was massively worse hence no spend.

If we stay up there should be a much bigger transfer budget, so it shouldn't be an issue spending 15. I'd expect us to spend a lot more than 15 on other players this summer if we stay in the PL but this is Mike Ashley so who knows.

Ake cost bournemouth £20 million, and was of similar importance to chelsea as kenedy so i’d expect it to be around that price
