Crystal Palace managed to do some good business at the end of last month’s transfer window after bringing in Michy Batshuayi on loan from Chelsea.
And looking back at recent seasons, making such big moves in the winter market has boded well for the south London club.
In 2017, they brought in Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool in an initial deal similar to that of Batshuayi’s, and the Frenchman has not disappointed.
Sakho, who turned 29 today, has become a key figure in this Crystal Palace team after an array of solid displays at the back which have helped the Premier League outfit to retain their status in English football’s top division.
Ultimately, the former Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain defender has been a superb addition to Crystal Palace’s squad and supporters will now be hoping Batshuayi can be just as successful at Selhurst Park.
