Having missed out on Dominic Solanke to Bournemouth, Crystal Palace are still on the lookout for a new striker.
That new striker, however, should he arrive at Selhurst Park this month, will have one less No.9 to compete against for a spot in the team.
According to Sky Sports, Alexander Sorloth is set to join Belgian club Gent on loan having failed to make much of an impression since arriving in south London last year.
And with the possible addition of another centre-forward to the squad which already has Christian Benteke and Jordan Ayew, the 23-year-old’s imminent move to the Ghelamco Arena makes a lot of sense.
From Sorloth’s perspective, he should find some much needed game time in Belgium. As for Crystal Palace, they can open up a space for the arrival of a more prolific No.9.
Have a look at what Crystal Palace supporters are saying about Sorloth below…

Absolutely needed.

It’s the right move. Would have preferred he went to the Championship but it’s better than nothing.

Still young but has lost confidence, hopefully he'll find that again by playing regularly.

He’s still so young too!
