Share

Many Crystal Palace fans are reacting to the latest transfer update around Marseille defender Jordan Amavi, who is a reported transfer target for the South London side.

L’Equipe are reporting, via @cpfc_xtra, that Marseille are panicking about the future of Amavi as he is due to become a free agent at the end of this season.

The 26-year-old has made 14 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit this season, including five Champions League appearances (WhoScored). He has impressed in Ligue 1, averaging 1.4 tackles, 3.3 interceptions and 2.9 clearances a match. He also has some experience in England, making 48 appearances for Aston Villa from 2015-2017 (Transfermarkt).

Palace fans seem excited with this news, with one saying, ‘This would be a great signing, he’s a beast’. It is understandable to see them excited as the player has an abundance of experience for someone still at an early stage in their career and has performed very well defensively this campaign.

With all this in mind, it is clear to see why many Palace fans are reacting positively on social media over the possibility of the Frenchman joining, especially with the future of Patrick van Aanholt in doubt.
