Crystal Palace man: We simply must improve this

Quoted by The Croydon Advertiser, Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann has said that his Eagles side need to learn from their loss against Liverpool at the weekend.

Our resident Eagles fans here in the Transfer Tavern certainly hope they do, too, after the London club saw their efforts in pegging the Reds back twice come to nothing as Jurgen Klopp’s men ran out 4-2 winners.

Two goals from James McArthur twice suggested Palace would get at least a point from the match as Liverpool failed to deal with things at the back once more, but it wasn’t to be and the captain Dann feels the club need to learn from Saturday evening quickly, especially after their own defensive errors cost them the game.

“We never really got ourselves into the game in the first half and kind of played into their hands a little bit”, he said.

”The goals were disappointing to concede and something we need to be a lot better at. We can’t afford to give away goals like that, especially against a top side like Liverpool.”

The defeat was Palace’s third in a row in the Premier League after losing to West Ham and Leicester City in previous weeks and the Eagles now sit in 13th place in the division because of it.

They play Burnley this Saturday, with the Clarets fresh from a 0-0 draw with Manchester United.
