Crystal Palace have approached Chelsea over bringing Conor Gallagher back to Selhurst Park, according to 90min.

The Lowdown: Gallagher’s loan spell

The 22-year-old enjoyed a brilliant loan spell under Patrick Vieira last season, making 39 appearances in all competitions. Gallagher, who former Leeds striker Noel Whelan labelled a 'very exciting player', scored eight goals for the Eagles, taking his senior tally to 16.

He won Palace’s Player of the Season award and was also nominated for the PFA Player of the Year accolade following his fine displays at Selhurst Park.

The Latest: Transfer update

90min shared a story regarding Gallagher on Monday, in which Palace were mentioned.

They claimed that the Eagles, along with Newcastle and West Ham, have made an enquiry on Gallagher’s availability, although the report does add that Chelsea aren’t interested in letting the midfielder leave at this moment in time.

The Verdict: Late move?

Gallagher made his Chelsea debut at the weekend, coming on as a late substitute in the 1-0 win over Everton.

He appears to be in Thomas Tuchel’s plans as of now, although there are still three weeks before the transfer window slams shut, so there could be a change of heart at Stamford Bridge.

Another loan spell at Selhurst Park could be of interest to all parties at the end of the month if Gallagher is limited to brief displays from the bench at Chelsea, so it could still be one to watch closely if Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman decide to take their interest in the 22-year-old further.
