Crystal Palace are set to take young goalkeeper Fernando Delgado on trial over the coming weeks.

The Lowdown: Academy additions

The Eagles opened their new £20m academy redevelopment last year and have made a number of young additions since then.

Striker Luke Plange and winger Malcolm Ebiowei have joined from Derby County, with three players also arriving to bolster the U21 ranks in recent months.

It looks as if Dougie Freedman now has his eye on another young talent, who will seemingly be heading to Palace in November.

The Latest: Palace trial

Sports Witness relayed an update from Mexican outlet Jovenes Futbolistas, regarding Palace and Delgado.

They claimed that the goalkeeper will have a trial with Palace from November 3rd to the 19th, looking to earn a contract with the Eagles.

The Verdict: One to watch

Delgado is just 16 years of age and plies his trade with Real Monarchs, a third-tier side in the USA and the reserve team for MLS side Real Salt Lake.

The Mexico U17 international has made two club appearances, and Palace clearly think he could be a future star to bring him over for a trial.

It will be one to keep an eye on next month, and should Delgado impress, Palace could look to take advantage of his current contract that expires at the end of November.
