Crystal Palace’s assistant head groundsman Charlie Buck shared an image of the Selhurst Park playing surface on Thursday afternoon.

And a number of Palace supporters were quick to share their positive thoughts on the pitch on social media.

New Palace boss Patrick Vieira will take charge at Selhurst Park for the first time on Tuesday in a pre-season friendly with Charlton Athletic.

The Frenchman will once again get the chance to adjust to his new surroundings a week before the new campaign gets underway with a final friendly at home to Watford.

Vieira’s first competitive game in charge at home is scheduled to take place on Saturday August 21 against newly promoted Brentford, and the pitch already looks in top condition ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
