Crystal Palace: Fans slate Patrick Van Aanholt following West Ham match
Many Crystal Palace fans are not best pleased following the performance of Patrick van Aanholt against West Ham United on Wednesday night.
The Eagles drew 1-1, but the goal for the Hammers came from a cross on the Dutchman’s flank and he could have possibly put a bit more pressure on Vladimir Coufal. One fan said the Palace left-back was a ‘liability’.
He did lose possession twelve times in the match (SofaScore). However, the goal scored by Sebastien Haller was a world-class bicycle kick and van Aanholt did have a decent game. He made two clearances and two interceptions and showed that he also has a creative eye as he made one key pass.
It wasn’t his best performance and so it is understandable to see him get some stick, and hopefully he can turn things around when the South London side face reigning Premier League champions Liverpool this weekend.
