Crystal Palace are closing in on a move for Chelsea defender Marc Guehi, according to David Ornstein.
And, as to be expected, a number of Eagles fans have been reacting to the transfer update on social media.
According to Ornstein, who writes for The Athletic, Palace are close to a permanent deal for the 21-year-old.
Guehi will undergo an Eagles medical on Thursday ahead of putting pen to paper on a five-year Selhurst Park deal.
Ornstein doesn’t share the final fee, however, he claims that the Blues have negotiated a sell-on clause and matching rights on any future transfer.
The England Under-21 international has spent the past season-and-a-half with Swansea City on loan in the Championship, making 59 appearances in south Wales.
Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman has been the driving force behind a deal, with a number of clubs in England and Germany keen on signing Guehi this summer.
Palace fans react
@CPFCtransfersHQ shared Ornstein’s news on Guehi on Thursday lunchtime. This is what these Eagles supporters had to say in reply, with one describing a move as ‘sensational’.
