Nottingham Forest: David Prutton makes prediction for Middlesbrough match

Nottingham Forest have a great chance to earn consecutive victories as they face a trip to Middlesbrough on Monday.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side have been terrific away from home this season with eight wins from 18 league games, and that is likely a factor that influenced Sky Sports’ David Prutton to predict a 2-1 win for the Reds.

Forest have now lost one in six matches away from the City Ground after a brilliant display saw them beat Cardiff 1-0 on Tuesday, though the three points could have been won by a bigger margin had Alfa Semedo done better with his chance.

Middlesbrough, meanwhile, have been in poor form and in fact have struggled for most of the season, and therefore the visitors should really fancy their chances at the Riverside. Boro are without a win in 11 matches and have recently lost to relegation-threatened sides Luton and Barnsley, providing the perfect opportunity for Forest to put pressure on their promotion rivals.

While Leeds and West Brom face games that look comfortable on paper, with Hull and Wigan the respective opponents, the Midlands outfit could have the chance to overtake Fulham, as they face fellow play-off side Preston.

Regardless of results elsewhere, Forest need to build momentum and maintaining their excellent away from should relieve some of the pressure to pick up points at home, pressure which may have contributed to just one point from home matches against QPR and Charlton.

Prutton states that Lamouchi will need to produce a “string of results” if they are to compete with Leeds and West Brom, but since they have Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield coming up they may be able to do just that.
