Dejan Lovren’s time at Liverpool is surely close to its end.
The Croatia international has been with the Reds since 2014, when he moved to Anfield from Southampton – one of several players to travel that path. Since then, he has made 184 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals, and he has been a part of the squad that has made two Champions League finals, winning one, whilst he has also featured this term as Liverpool have opened up a 25-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
However, the £100,000-a-week man is not exactly a popular figure on Merseyside, with plenty of fans lambasting his performances, whilst some of his comments during this lockdown – he called the current pandemic a hoax – have been baffling to say the least. Aged 30, and with Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk to contend with, he is unlikely to have as big an influence in the future.

Fortunately for the Reds, AS Roma are said to be keen to take him to Italy. They are said to be considering a move for him when the window opens, with him being a cheaper alternative to Chris Smalling (Gazzetta dello Sport via SportsMole).
