Derby County: Fans react as Kamil Grosicki transfer decision edges closer

Soccer Football - Championship - West Bromwich Albion v Hull City - The Hawthorns, West Bromwich, Britain - July 5, 2020 West Bromwich Albion's Kamil Grosicki scores their third goal, as play resumes behind closed doors following the outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Action Images/Andrew Boyers EDITORIAL USE ONLY. Many Derby County fans have reacted to a claim from John Percy that a decision over Kamil Grosicki‘s future is set to be announced on Thursday morning.

The Polish attacker joined West Brom back in January but he has been unable to find sufficient playing time on the pitch, failing to feature as yet this term in the Premier League.

Playing behind the likes of Grady Diangana, Callum Robinson and Matheus Pereira, the former Hull City winger was expected to seal a move to Championship side Nottingham Forest in the final hours of the domestic transfer window. However, paperwork for the deal to be completed was submitted 21 seconds late, and an appeal from Forest has since been awaiting an outcome.

Percy, who often covers West Brom for The Telegraph, has now provided an update on the ongoing saga.

#nffc arbitration hearing over the signing of Kamil Grosicki from #wba was held today. Decision expected by Thursday morning. Forest remain hopeful Grosicki will complete his loan move

Derby fans comment on Kamil Grosicki transfer saga

Here are just some of the tweets from fans of Nottingham Forest’s rivals Derby County regarding Grosicki’s pending transfer decision…

30 seconds late is late. Should not be allowed

— DCFC (@DcfcFansTalk) October 27, 2020

Since when is the concept of time up for debate? Late is late, anyone remember Kieftenbeld to Derby on Deadline Day?

— Peter Filipowicz (@TridentRAM) October 27, 2020

Transfers have to be done by 5pm not at 5pm 🤔 anyway why leave it soo late 🙄

— Daley 💙 (@DaleyTinsley) October 27, 2020

Because anytime after 5 it’s closed don’t get how you don’t understand. Many years gone by where it’s been announced that deals were 20 seconds too late etc. If a shop closes at 5pm you can’t walk in at 5pm for 59 seconds

— DCFC (@DcfcFansTalk) October 27, 2020

Surely if the kieftenbeld to derby a few years back wasn’t allowed the grosicki to forest has to be cancelled aswell the exact same thing happened https://t.co/p5RLFad08R

There isn’t really a grey area when it comes to time.
