Derby County managed to get the better of Hull City at Pride Park on Saturday in what was a dominant performance from Frank Lampard’s men.
The Rams still find themselves sitting just outside of the play-offs on goal difference, as Bristol City secured yet another three points against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
However, it appears as if Lampard is closing in on a signing, as according to the Derby Telegraph, a deal looks to be close for central defender Efe Ambrose.
Interestingly, the Rams could soon complete the signing of Efe Ambrose, according to Lampard after Saturday’s 2-0 home victory over Hull City.
Here’s what the Derby boss had to say:
“We are talking, he is training with us. It is not done yet, it could be done soon,”
Luckily for the Rams, Ambrose is a free agent which means he can join a club outside a transfer window.
THE VERDICT:

Efe Ambrose has plenty of experience from his time in Scotland and on the international stage with Nigeria, so he could prove to be a valuable asset as the Rams chase down a play-off place.
The defender will provide healthy competition and cover at the back, with injuries possibly taking their toll.
