The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern were once again waxing lyrical about their club talisman Mo Salah last night…
The regular Kopites propping up the bar here were feeling agitated when their side were leading Stoke by 1 goal to nil last night, before the Premier League’s top-goalscorer came on and made sure of the points for Jurgen Klopp’s side. Salah’s quick-fire brace after coming on as a substitute in the second-half boosted his tally in the league to 12 and 17 in all competitions. The Egyptian’s record is truly remarkable considering how much of the season is left to play.
Liverpool’s visit to the Bet365 Stadium also saw Stoke City’s Joe Allen pitted against his former employees.
Allen who is affectionately and rather ironically known as ‘the Welsh Xavi’, had two fantastic opportunities to score his first league goal of the season, but he couldn’t make his chances count inside the penalty area.
The Liverpool fans took to Twitter to discuss Allen’s performance and his potential merits in the current Liverpool set-up.
Perhaps to the surprise of some, there appears to be plenty of admiration for the former Liverpool employee whilst the likes of Gini Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson continue to disappoint The Reds faithful.
