The Middlesbrough fans in the Transfer Tavern are drowning their sorrows after yet another embarrassing performance in the first half against Bournemouth.
At the start of the day, Middlesbrough fans probably saw this as their last chance.
Six points separated them from survival with a game in hand.
By no means impossible but they need to seriously reverse this appalling run of form that they are on – Boro have not won a league game since before Christmas.
2017 has been a bleak year for Middlesbrough fans and that trend just continued in the first half against Bournemouth.
Just two minutes into the match, they found themselves behind with Josh King opening the scoring for hosts Bournemouth.
Bournemouth doubled their lead after 16 minutes with Benik Afobe providing the finish and possibly the last nail in Boro’s coffin.
If the two goal deficit wasn’t going to provide Middlesbrough with enough of a challenge, going down to ten men certainly was.
Gaston Ramirez was shown a red card for a sliding challenge and things went from bad to worse for the Middlesbrough fans.
At half time, they are 2-0 down and look dead and buried.
They will need something extraordinary to turn things around from here and this is the best of the twitter reactions from fans.

@Boro gaston is a total joke and does not deserve to wear the #boro shirt! Agnew has no clue about football management! It's a shame! #UTB
