Do You Share RVP’s Opportunism?

Arsenal forward Robin van Persie has hinted that the Gunners could still compete for this year’s Premier League title.

Arsene Wenger’s side suffered a dreadful start to the 2011/12 campaign with four defeats from their opening seven games – including the 8-2 drubbing at Old Trafford.

However, Arsenal, largely indebted to their Dutch hitman Van Persie, have fought back and now lie 12 points behind leaders Manchester City following a 2-1 away success at Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

“Why not?” said RVP when asked about Arsenal’s first title since 2004.

“The way we look at it is that we challenge for every single game and we will see what that will bring us.”

He added: “We’ve only played 17 games, we’re not even half way through the season and anything can happen in this League.”
