jamie vardyjamie vardydLeicester City forward Jamie Vardy has ended speculation over his future after agreeing to sign a new four-year contract with the Premier League champions, the Foxes have announced on their official website.

Vardy was linked with a summer switch to top flight rivals Arsenal but the man who netted 24 goals last season has now opted to stay with his current club, ahead of their very first season playing Champions League football next year.

The news has seen wild celebrations from the Foxes’ faithful here in the Transfer Tavern and the corks have been popping off the champagne all morning following the news of Vardy’s new contract.

The striker is currently with the England squad who face Iceland in the last 16 of the European Championships on Monday, and he will officially put pen-to-paper upon his return from the tournament.

One Leicester fan stops momentarily from sipping his champers to state his delight, confirming that Vardy has a lot more to offer and that the club can go from strength to strength again next season.

Leicester fans, what do you make to this news? Did you ever think Vardy would leave?
