It’s fair to say that Mohamed Salah has been the surprise package of the season. Whilst everybody knew that he was a player with a lot of talent, nobody knew just how good he was going to be. 

He started the season very well, but over the following weeks and months, he has truly gone on to establish himself as one of the best players in the English top flight.

His last game, against Watford, was arguably his best yet. He bagged a remarkable four goals, cementing himself further as the focal point of the Reds’ attack.

You’d think, then, that nobody would be doubting his quality now – but that isn’t the case. Not many are expecting him to repeat his heroics next season, with even journalists – like Dean Jones of the Bleacher Report – questioning whether he can continue his incredible run of form next term.

Clearly, he’s set himself a very high bar, but our landlord thinks that the Egyptian has everything that it takes to make next season even better.

More Experience

If you just looked at what Salah can do on the pitch, you’d think that he was a seasoned veteran that had donned the famous red strip for years.

But that’s not the case – he hasn’t even been in England for a year yet.

By the time next season rolls around, he’d have had an entire campaign to get used to the physicality, tactics and requirements of the English top flight.

He’s been this good without much preparation – and that’s a worrying thought for opposition defenders.

Squad Improvement

Naby Keita is set to join this summer, whilst you’d also hope that Adam Lallana will be fit, available and back to his best.

With Keita controlling the midfield, and Adam Lallana passing balls through to the Egyptian, Salah’s only going to have an easier time.

What’s more, that’s without even considering who else Jurgen Klopp will look to bring in this summer, and so if the team gets better, you’d imagine that Salah will have more to feed off of – and thus he will be more effective.

It’s only going to get better for him at Anfield.
