Dream addition: These 2 Man Utd stars should be desperate for £54m-rated ace to join the club

Man Utd are a team that needs improvement, and they could get it in the form of Thiago, according to the Independent. The Spaniard is apparently a target of Jose Mourinho’s men, with the Portuguese boss seems intent on improving his midfield options.

The Red Devils aren’t exactly lacking in midfield quality, with the likes of Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, among others, all available to Mourinho.

However, none of those players offers quite what Thiago – who is rated at £54 million by Transfer Markt – does. He can see a pass that most others wouldn’t spot, and his ability to manipulate the ball perfectly is arguably unrivalled across Europe.

Naturally, then, he could be a decent fit. Indeed, he’s a player that could add another dimension to the Man Utd team, and he’s a player that could be of huge benefit to a few of Joses Mourinho’s players.

In fact, a few players are likely eager to see him move to the club, given what he could provide for their game.

With that said, these 2 Man Utd stars must be desperate for Thiago to join the club…

Paul Pogba was tasked with being the creative master in this team last season, and that’s not really his game.

Sure, he can pass well, and his creativity is great – but he’s much better when he’s given free license to play his own game. That may involve a lot of passing, of course, but it will also allow him to drive forwards with pace and power – whilst he’ll also look to get on the end of attacks too.

In essence, Pogba’s lack of form since he came to Man Utd has been down to the club not using him to his strengths. The arrival of Thiago would allow that to change, and it could turn him into an even better player.

Romelu Lukaku is a player that thrives on fantastic deliveries and fast midfield movement. Fortunately, Thiago offers both of those things in droves.

Man Utd lack a creative presence in the midfield, with Paul Pogba ideally more concerned with creating magic by driving forwards, rather than passing to his teammates, and Nemanja Matic focused on defending.

It makes sense, then, for Man Utd to add more of a passing-focused option.

Thiago is a brilliant passer and he is often the man through which the speed of a game is played and dictated. Lukaku would be able to feed off that, and it could turn him into an even more deadly finisher – which is a brilliant prospect for Man Utd. He’d really be able to make use of his pace and power to latch onto deliveries.
