Dream October: Sunderland

Sunderland have been one of the form teams in League One so far this season, but there’re definitely improvements to be had if they want to enjoy automatic promotion.

The Black Cats have been rather impressive so far this season but they could be in an even better position if they manage to ensure a little bit more consistency.

Indeed, the League One club invested heavily to bring in a number of players during the summer, so it’s safe to say that Jack Ross has a very strong squad at his disposal. But, it’s all about whether the players can ensure consistency by grinding out positive results from here on in.

Interestingly, the month of October may decide Sunderland’s fate as they have the opportunity to climb into the automatic promotion places, but things could also go horribly wrong at the same time.

With that in mind, here is the dream October for the Black Cats…

JOSH MAJA ADDS MORE TO HIS TALLY

Josh Maja has been in incredible form so far this season on his way to bagging himself a number of goals, with Championship and Premier League clubs possibly eyeing a move.

The youngster will play a massive part in their promotion push as he has been the standout performer for the Black Cats in the current campaign, with a goal never too far away when the Englishman is on the field.

So, Jack Ross will be hoping that he can add more goals to his tally to ensure that Sunderland meet all of their aims and enjoy a dream October.

CLIMB INTO AUTOMATIC PROMOTION PLACES

Sunderland would love nothing more than to enjoy automatic promotion straight back to the Championship, but there is currently a couple of minor problems that keep on halting their progress.

The Black Cats arguably have the strongest squad in the division but they’ve struggled to hold onto leads so far this season, which has caused all sorts of problems in terms of their league position.

So, the Sunderland boss will be praying that his side can ensure consistency in order to move into an automatic promotion place, as this puts all the pressure on the trailing pack.
