Jurgen Klopp is under pressure to revive the club’s fortunes and get them back on track for a place in the top four, although the fans here in the Tavern are not overly hopeful that they will get anything from Arsenal this afternoon.

Liverpool were comprehensively beaten by Leicester City on Monday evening and the fans who are so disgruntled here in the Tavern are desperate to see them return to winning ways today.

One supporter is enjoying an all-day breakfast here in the Tavern and he thinks that Liverpool will provide stern opposition for Arsenal this afternoon, despite their sporadic form.

Lucas

The Brazilian has been filling in at central defence over the past few weeks and in fairness he hasn’t been at all convincing.

With Ragnar Klavan now fit and ready for a return to action the time must come this weekend for Klopp to wield the axe on Lucas.

One Liverpool fan is playing pool here in the Tavern and he thinks that Lucas should never have been handed a central defensive berth in the first place.

Simon Mignolet

The Belgian stopper was restored to the first-team earlier in the campaign following some indifferent form by his goalkeeping rival Loris Karius.

This weekend could be the time to hand Karius the gloves back to see if his form has improved, with the German the more likely long-term option between the posts for Liverpool.
